First of all we need to setup our character with the correct bone setup and names. This will help us identify each bone and make the process of mapping our characters bones to the Endorphin rig.

1) First, Download this Lightwave bone rig and apply it to your Character (See attached below)

2) Load this rig in to Modeler and load your characters mesh into a new layer. You will then need to move the whole mesh so that it sits over the Bone rig. You will NOT need to bend any parts, as long as your mesh is in th 'T' shape.

3) NOTE!: Where the three bones in the hips intersect this point MUST stay at X-Y-Z  0-0-0
With your mesh showing in the background and the Bone rig showing in the foreground, Move each bone to line up with your characters limbs.

At the end of each chain, I.E. Arms, Legs and Head you will find a small bone called "_END" these are end controller bones and should not be resized. So when lining up the wrist bones you will move BOTH the 'Wrist' and 'Wrist_END' so both fit inside you characters hands...
the same goes for the 'Toe' and 'Head'

4) Place the bones and the your mesh in to the first layer and save you character and send it to Layout.

Now that we have our character showing in the Layout view, we need a few more steps in order for Endorphin to understand your setup...

1) Select your character mesh and convert Skeligons to bones.

2) Next change you view to a side view and raise your character so that it is standing on the floor.
Now will be a good time to save your Scene.

3) With you character selected use the FBX export and save the setup to your harddrive.
NOTE: When saving an FBX file you need to un-check: 'Lights', 'Cameras', 'Embed Textures' and 'Materials'
Keep everything else the same

[Shocked]  I started this post nearly a year ago!!!

I WILL get it finished soon, I need to re-make one of my characters and set it up in; Lightwave, Endorphin and MotionBuilder. When i do I'll be making a tutorial video showing the stages and talking you all through the process.

Watch this space for any updates. Wink
